Booker T. Rocks with Neil Young and Drive-By Truckers
On April 21, Booker T. will release his new album Potato Hole featuring both The Drive-By Truckers and Neil Young. Needless to say, expectations are quite high.

Booker T Jones might be making the best rock'n'roll album of the year. The legendary soul and funk man, and leader of the MGs, is to release his first solo album in more than a decade – and he's doing it with the help of Drive-By Truckers and Neil Young.
In the liner notes Booker T. writes a thanks to Neil for: "being like a race horse, unable to wait to get out of the gate, and for playing with so much heart and brilliance".

Having been lucky enough to hear both FITR and Potato Hole in the last 24 hours I can say that they are both great albums.
FITR is excellent and is not as one dimensional as a lot of people assumed from listening to badly recorded live versions. For instance Cough up the bucks has some musical atmosphere that may be borrowed from the Beatles "A Day in the Life". With a total time of just over 38 minutes the songs are focused. There is humour, hope, ballads, rockers. What more can you ask for. Nothing! FITR is a great album that is very playable. Do yourself a favour and get a copy.

Just bought this at my local record shop in Sydney Australia. The whole thing is incredible...it is such a nice thick soup of Bookers church chords and the DBTs doing there thing with wailing, succinct geetar solos from Ol' Neil. Booker T. is obviously inspired.

p.s. the cover of Tom Waits "Get Behind the Mule" is down home, down right, slow cooker & a show case for Booker's fingers.
Great great great. Hope there will be another Neil and The DBT experience : southern and garage sound ! Ouch.
