Jackson Hole, Wyoming Concert This Summer?

UPDATE: The following story has been retracted by the Jackson Hole Underground. So much for "several well-placed industry sources". Won't get fooled again.

From Jackson Hole Underground:
Neil Young, one of the icons of classic rock and long a favorite of Wyoming music fans, is slated to perform in Jackson Hole on Saturday, Aug. 16, according to several well-placed industry sources.

Young will be one of the headliners at the nascent Jackson Hole Music Festival. The two-day event will be held at or near Teton Village.

Still a work in progress, the concert is being produced by The Festival Network, which puts on the JVC Jazz Fests in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Newport, R.I. A subsidiary of the company produces the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Festival Network executives visited Jackson Hole earlier this winter and met with local officials, according to a person who took part in the discussions.

The idea of a Jazz Fest-type event at Teton Village has been discussed for years, but this is the most serious planning effort yet, the person said.

The Web page for the Jackson Hole Music Festival says details are coming soon. Young’s site lists Aug. 16 among his upcoming tour dates but does not specify a venue.

Already a considerable buzz has been spreading around the valley.

Neil's tour page does not actually display a tour date -- it only indicates a full moon on that day.

So could there be more Continental summer dates if this rumor proves true?

And will this be the Toast tour?

More on Neil 's summer tour plans. Hopefully, accurate.

WHAT??? OMG. That's all I have to say. But hey, Thrasher, thanks for that. Now I have to sit here and stare at my computer screen without respite until I find out whether this rumor is true or not! (elbows on desk, chin in hands, staring now)

Neil's site isn't showing a tour date on the 16th of August, just a full moon. If you look above that you'll notice that he always posts the full moon date. (But he also likes to play on the full moon so here's hoping...)

I always heard that Neil does not like to perform live on the full moon, but does like to record on the full moon. Didn't he have some studio in Cali booked for every full moon into perpetuity at one point (maybe still)?

Don't get too excited, yet folks
The link has been updated to read:

"Although promoters have had discussions with Wilco and Neil Young, no deals have been reached."

Still, any news about Neil hitting summer fests in the USA is a good thing, right?

Those were good sources, trust me.

I think the fest producers are still working on it.

Until money is exchanged and a contract signed, they don't want anyone saying anything.

Don't be surprised if this happens.

It is on Amazon as well

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neil-Young-Hurricane-Box-Set/dp/B00165QOG2

It does not appear to be a Warners/Reprise release, so looks like a bootleg like the recent Live in Japan and Live in San Francisco releases
