Classic video of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young performing "Down by the River" from YouTube (Click icon in center below to play directly).

And, no, From Here To Obscurity, this is not Rick James. It's Fuzzy Samuels Greg Reeves on bass.

Those three Gretsch guitars in a row is a beautiful thing indeed.

can't view the video, having trouble with youTube lately--Crosby is not playing a Gretch,it may be an Alembic conversion of a Gibson...If Dallas Taylor is playing drums, then Greg Reeves is on bass...

The DVD of this show is available. It's called Music Scene 1969-1970. CSNY is the best on it though. The rest is really dated. If you have a big screen TV, this will make you either feel old,if you remember the show, or if yer just into the music, then watching CSNY rake those strings is pure heaven.

Clyde - you are so right! This vid makes feel old, but it is so AWESOME. Old TV isn't as bad as some folks make it to be. Maybe not super High res, surround sound quality but these guys were the REAL deal back in the day.

Thanks for hosting video!

Living Legends still! I've seen them play in concert many times and God Willing, will see them again.

I think Stills is playing a Gretsch "White Falcon," but I don't know what Neil's using--although he seemed to use that particular type a lot in the pre-"Old Black" days. Great video! Makes you want to go back in time. I notice that Neil seemed a little less animated in those days (compare his Saturday Night Live performance in 89)

That's comedian David Steinberg introducing them. He was on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show many times back then. Don't see him much in front of the camera lately.
